Families FAQs
About Our Christian Preschool
What makes your Christian preschool different from other early education options?
Our distinctive approach integrates faith development with educational excellence. Beyond strong academics, we nurture children’s spiritual growth and character formation in ways that secular programs cannot. Our connection with church communities creates an extended family atmosphere, while our experienced educators create joyful learning environments that honor each child as a unique creation of God.
How do you incorporate Christian teachings into the curriculum?
Our faith-based curriculum naturally weaves biblical principles throughout the day. Children participate in age-appropriate Bible stories, prayers before meals, worship songs, and lessons about God’s love. Christian values such as love, kindness, forgiveness, and gratitude are reinforced through daily interactions and structured learning activities.
Do I need to be a member of your affiliated church to enroll?
No, our preschool welcomes families from all backgrounds. While we maintain our Christian identity and teachings, we respect diversity and do not require church membership or a statement of faith from our families.
Faith & Inclusion
How do you ensure Christian teachings are age-appropriate?
We use storytelling, songs, crafts, and play to introduce simple, loving concepts of God’s grace and goodness. Our goal is to instill a foundation of faith in a joyful and developmentally appropriate way.
Will my child be excluded if our family practices a different faith?
Absolutely not. While our program is rooted in Christian principles, we welcome all families and respect differing beliefs. Every child is embraced with love and dignity, and families are never pressured to participate beyond their comfort level.
Program Basics
What ages do you serve?
Neighborhood Kids Preschool welcomes children from 8 weeks – 4 years old. We offer developmentally appropriate programs tailored to each age group, ensuring children receive the attention and learning experiences best suited to their stage of growth.
What curriculum do you follow?
We follow the Abeka curriculum, a blend of faith-based learning and developmental approaches, that addresses the whole child—spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. What makes our program stand out is the faith-based learning, phonics-based reading, academic excellence introducing concepts earlier than many traditional programs, structured and sequential skill building, hands-on activities, and character development.
What is your teacher-to-student ratio?
We maintain low teacher-to-student ratios that allow for personalized attention and nurturing relationships. Each of our campuses is fully licensed and regularly inspected by local childcare licensing authorities, and we meet or exceed all state-mandated ratios for each age group.
Schedule & Tuition
What are your operating hours?
We operate Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 6:00PM.
Do you offer part-time schedules?
Yes, we offer flexible scheduling options including 2-day, 3-day, and 5-day programs to accommodate different family needs.
What is the cost of tuition?
Tuition varies by program and schedule. We proudly offer discounts for siblings, first responders, and active military (must be immediate family).
Daily Routines & Environment
What will a typical day look like for my child?
Each day includes a balance of structured learning, outdoor play, Bible study, hands-on activities, and quiet rest periods. Routines are predictable to create a sense of security, but flexible enough to meet the developmental needs of each age group.
Do children nap during the day?
Yes. All children have a designated rest or nap period. Infants follow individual schedules, while toddlers and preschoolers have quiet time after lunch. We provide sanitized cots/mats and encourage parents to send a blanket or comfort item.
Daily Experience
Do you provide meals and snacks?
We provide nutritious morning and afternoon snacks, as well as lunch. Parents are welcome to send alternatives for children with specific dietary needs.
What is your approach to discipline?
Our discipline approach is guided by biblical principles of grace, forgiveness, and loving guidance. We use positive reinforcement, redirection, and age-appropriate explanations to help children understand boundaries and develop self-regulation. We partner closely with parents to ensure consistency between home and school.
How do you communicate with parents?
We maintain open communication through daily reports, parent-teacher conferences, our parent portal app, Brightwheel, and an open-door policy for addressing questions or concerns. We view our relationship with parents as a vital partnership in your child’s development.
Health & Safety
What safety measures do you have in place?
Safety is a top priority. Our facilities feature secure entry systems, regular safety drills, background-checked staff, CPR/First Aid certified teachers, cameras, and careful supervision at all times. Our church-based locations also benefit from the security measures in place at each congregation.
What is your illness policy?
Yes. All children have a designated rest or nap period. Infants follow individual schedules, while toddlers and preschoolers have quiet time after lunch. We provide sanitized cots/mats and encourage parents to send a blanket or comfort item.
School Policies & Readiness
Do you help with potty training?
Yes! We partner with parents during the potty-training process and provide encouragement and consistency. Our team works with each child at their developmental pace to ensure a positive transition.
What happens if my child is not ready for VPK or Kindergarten?
Our goal is to set children up for success. If a child needs more time to develop foundational skills, we work with families to assess readiness and can provide recommendations for additional support or extended preschool options.
How do you support children with different learning needs or developmental delays?
Our teachers are trained to identify and support diverse learning styles and developmental needs. We offer individualized attention and collaborate with parents and specialists when needed to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive.
Enrollment & Involvement
How do I enroll my child?
Enrollment begins with scheduling a tour of our facility. Following the tour, you can complete our application form and pay the registration fee to secure your child’s place. We recommend enrolling early as our programs often fill quickly.
What parent involvement opportunities exist?
We value partnership with parents and offer various ways to get involved, including classroom volunteering, special event assistance, and parent-teacher conferences. We believe parents are a child’s first and most important teachers.
