Churches FAQs
Partnership Overview
What does a partnership with Neighborhood Kids Preschool involve?
Our partnership model allows churches to host a quality Christian preschool in their existing facilities without managing day-to-day operations. We handle staffing, curriculum, enrollment, licensing, financial management, and administration while your church provides the physical space and spiritual support. Together, we create a vibrant ministry that serves families and extends your church’s mission into the community.
How does hosting a Neighborhood Kids Preschool benefit our church?
Churches that partner with us typically experience multiple benefits: expertise and professionalism, consistent faith-based curriculum, maximize utilization of unused church property Monday thru Friday, licensing compliance and peace of mind, community connection, reliable revenue stream, and the fulfillment of providing a needed service that aligns with Christian mission. Many partner churches report that families first introduced through our preschool later become active church members.
How do you ensure Neighborhood Kids Preschool reflects well on our church's reputation?
We maintain high standards of professionalism, educational quality, and Christian witness in all aspects of our operation. Regular communication between preschool leadership and church leadership helps ensure alignment of values and practices. We view ourselves as an extension of your ministry and take that responsibility seriously.
Ministry Integration
How do you help connect Neighborhood Kids Preschool families to our church?
We serve as a bridge between families and the host church through several intentional strategies: including church events in our parent communications, inviting pastoral staff to preschool events, coordinating special programs with your children’s ministry, and personally introducing interested families to church staff.
Can our church staff be involved in the Neighborhood Kids Preschool ministry?
Absolutely! We welcome involvement from your pastoral staff and children’s ministry team. Some partner churches have pastors or staff who lead weekly chapel services and staff members who build relationships with preschool staff and families.
Practical Requirements
What spaces would our church need to provide?
We need a minimum of 10 classrooms (depending on program size), controlled/secured access to the school area, access to a playground area or space to create one, bathroom facilities accessible to children and staff, office space, on-site parking, (Parking space needs will depend upon your local requirements), and storage space. Many of our most successful partnerships utilize spaces that are otherwise unoccupied during weekday hours, creating efficient use of your facilities.
What physical modifications might be needed to our facilities?
Modifications vary by location, but typically include appropriate bathroom facilities, secure entrances, and playground equipment. We conduct a thorough facility assessment before partnership and work with you to determine necessary modifications. Many churches can host our program with minimal changes to their existing spaces.
What licensing and insurance requirements should we know about?
Our preschool maintains all necessary licensing, complying with state and local regulations. We carry comprehensive liability insurance that covers all preschool activities. We can partner with your church’s insurance provider, but we will work with our preferred broker that is knowledgeable in proper childcare facility coverage requirements.
Operational Details
What are our responsibilities versus yours?
Your church provides the facility space, utilities, and facility maintenance. Our preschool team handles all aspects of operations including staffing, curriculum implementation, enrollment management, parent communication, regulatory compliance, financial management, and program administration. We work together on community outreach and maintaining alignment with shared Christian values.
How is the quality of the Neighborhood Kids Preschool maintained?
We maintain high standards through ongoing teacher training, curriculum development, regular program evaluation, and adherence to both state licensing requirements and Christian preschool accreditation standards. Directors at each location receive support from our central leadership team to ensure consistent quality across all campuses.
What is the typical timeframe from partnership agreement to opening?
The process typically takes between 4-12 months, including facility preparation, licensing, staffing, and enrollment. We handle the majority of the work, but coordinate closely with your team throughout the process to ensure a smooth launch.
How do I get the process started?
Getting started with a preschool partnership is simple. Connect with us by filling out the initial online application “Is NKS a Fit for Your Church” so we can get a conversation started. If your church fits within our partnership criteria, we’re happy to set up an introductory call. This no-obligation discussion allows us to learn about your church’s facilities, mission, and community needs while answering your specific questions.
Following this conversation, if both parties agree to move forward in the process, we’ll arrange a site visit to assess your facilities and discuss potential classroom spaces. We’ll then provide a customized partnership proposal outlining space requirements, timeline, financial arrangements, and ministry integration opportunities specific to your church.
If your leadership decides to move forward, we’ll guide you through each step of the process—from formal agreement signing to facility preparation, licensing support, staff hiring, and community outreach for enrollment. Our experienced team manages the details while keeping your church leadership informed and involved at the level you desire.
Many of our most successful church partnerships began with a simple conversation about shared vision for reaching families. We invite you to take that first step today!
